This week in Geek: Sierra goes Humble/$team

This week you can binge again as Netflix launches another season of one of its own series. And Sierra released a few classics on Steam and Humble.

Several outlets noted that the Sierra company has put several more classic games on Steam. Comments beneath the articles have noted this re-release as a money grabbing operation. These games were available through GOG so there is not that much news under the sun. On the other hand, Sierra did also put these games in a Humble Bundle which is available from $1 up. What do you think?

Series & Movies

This Friday Netflix will post the second season of Narcos.  The homegrown series made exclusively for the streaming service is highly regarded and has an 8,9 score on IMDB. The new season features stronger female characters and a ‘blank’ Escobar.

At the cinema you can start your weekend with the new Michael Fassbender (the one who played Steve Jobs last year) flick ‘The light between oceans‘.

The movie that made the most money last weekend was the horrormovie Don’t breathe. If this is your sort of thing (it sure isn’t mine) you can always catch this picture during the weekend.

Yes, it is that time of year again… Apple is going to announce the new iPhones on September 7th and yes, rumors are floating around what this years iteration of the flagship product from Cupertino might bring. One thing we know for sure: there will be a hefty price tag on that new toy. As always, you can watch the keynote live on the site of Apple. Be sure to bring either Safari or Edge if you are on Windows as they are the only browsers supporting the broadcast.

The esports scene is on a bit of a hiatus at the start of september. This weekend you can of course see a lot of gaming on Twitch but there are a few interesting matches:

There is a CWL tournament for Call of Duty and the NA Heroes of the Storm tournament.
