This Week in Geek: Cyber Monday

After black Friday, the traditional shopping day with the comical video’s of people trampling each other, it is now time for Cyber Monday. A rather more civilized and more geeky day of cheap shopping. You might think it’s all a bit silly but this week in geek is all about some sweet deals.

As you might know, Steam has a lot of sales on each year. The winter and summer sales are the biggest by a country mile, but this black Friday/autumn sale is no slouch either.

The Steam store is not the only one selling games at a discount this year. You can also get your fix at the Humble store where they have their special black Friday sale on now.

Last but not least, you can also get some heavy discounts on Blizzard games in their own store. Most notable is the discount on Overwatch. It sells for a mere 35 euro’s this weekend.

I would mention the sale on Origin as well. But, lets face it, Origin is evil 😉 so no of it mention here.

It is impossible to tell you where you can get the best deals around your area. But on cyber Monday it is a safe bet that Amazon will have some pretty nice discounts. And indeed they have. Some Kindles, Echo and Fire Tablets are on sale.

Local deals may vary, as the European prices are quite different from the American ones.

For those who are doing their own bit of web developing, there is a sale on Themeforest and on Codecanyon which offer themes and plugins for 50% off.

Movies and Series

If you are Dutch, like me, then you can indulge a bit with Pathe Thuis discounts up to 60%. You can rent movies with the discount code ZYYGGRCJ7.

For other countries there are options too. Especially discounts, again, on Amazon’s digital offerings. The discounts there are up to 50%. Check your local Amazon for the latest offerings.
